Happy Independence Day Malaysia!

Indeed, 50 years is a long way from the first independence day, as much as some of us dislike the way things are run, despite the fact that this country has its fair share of shortcomings, it is still home.

I bet the people overseas can testify to it that Malaysia is still one of the best place to be at.

It's darn sad that Malaysians don't see the true significance of this day, it's even more sad they don't care what is the theme this year or even bother to celebrate with a true heart.

God has given us so much, in this country where we are placed, we should be happy that we are playing a big role in God's ultimate plan for this country.

In January, I already sensed that God is gonna move BIG this year, as He always has been. And indeed God did not disappoint, I have seen so many things happening, even through myself, i have come a long way from being a mere sinner to a repentant one actively seeking God's will.

My friends has taught me a lot too this year, and i know greater things are coming, as Steven Curtis Chapman write in his song, we come with Great Expectations.

Expect more from God, He has just begun His mighty work.

Don't lose out, don't be content to just sit and wait till you die and go heaven.

I attended the night NECF prayer conference for the past 2 nights, and it was a blessing. It was sad that people don't come and attend to pray and hear about the word from God, but it's alright, the people that came made a difference and that was what counts.

I hope to live another 50 more years to see the 100th independence day of Malaysia!
Then when i die people will quote me of this:

"When i realized how short my time was on earth, it struck me that the things i have been pursuing i could not take with me, and the only thing that mattered was what i did on earth for Christ Jesus, and so begun the life of God using me beyond what i can do and what He wants me to do. And here i am at the end of my life, hoping to do even more before i meet Jesus."

yeap, this will be my final speech before i die!

Happy Merdeka Malaysia!
Praise God for great things He hath done and greater things to come! Amen!

Come, Fly With Me.

Last week, Simon and I traveled down to KLIA 3 times on 3 separate days to send off 3 different brothers.
First person! Eugene Yoong! Superb friend though we argue a lot and insult each other a lot, but it's just the way we function to keep our friendship alive hehe

2nd person! Kevin! hahaha, Alias fan! He happy ler, in New York now enjoying, must go kacau him for updates!

Last but not least, Wei Soon!! Woot! such a blessing he has been and i hope he was happy enough we turned up so early in the morning to see him off though not his first time leaving for Russia hahaha....

But yea, we all did 3 things for them
1)We took photo
2) go McD's
3) We prayed our special prayer for each one of them!

All is done and hope to see them soon, on earth that is.

Men

why do we men give extra attention to pretty girls????

Unfair!

As much as a visual being we are, giving extra attention to pretty girls is just shallow!

C'mon men, we're better than that!

(plus... pretty girls usually are heartbreakers!)

darn

unfair

Why do pretty girls get the extra attention?

pfft.

Giving is better?

Say that a beggar comes up to you and ask for money...

give? or don't give?

Argument 1:
You give because Jesus gave to the needy as well, and you know you can help that person.

Argument 2:
You don't give, because the beggar has all limbs attached and the bible said that if you have hands and don't work you don't eat. Plus it could be a syndicate, like a whole organization sending beggars out to ask for money but the money will not go into their pockets but the organization, you at most buy them food.

Argument 3:
You give ANYWAY even if you think theres a syndicate out there because you did your part and no one can find fault with you no matter what.

I personally feel that i should give it via a proper christian organization and then it will be channeled properly, hmm, still...

Big 5

Ok, taking Simon's suggestion,i shall blog about CF camp using the top 5 method!

Top 5 best things about Golden Sands:
1. The toilets are squatting kind
2. Bed super duper super crazy gila comfy -Best sleep so far this year.
3. Workers rather friendly
4. The sound of crashing waves
5. A bell to call people when food is served

Top 5 worst things about Golden Sands:
1. toilet paper ran out
2. food were mostly meat and eggs (daniel fast still going on =( )
3. Dorm so small that what everyone was doing was visible, even those who walk around with only underwear on...
4. girls' dorm was nearer to the hall...
5. no mamak nearby

Top 5 things i learned during sessions:
1. the bible can be seen as a progression, i mean, it builds up to something and then has a point, darn, can't explain well, but it was cool
2. Gen 12:3, we must bless others to be blessed.
3. we all bear the same fruit because we come from the same vine, and apart from God we can do nothing, only when we remain in him he shall enable and empower us.
4.we make the choices, and we must bear the consequences, we should choose the better portion, though the other one can be worked out for the glory of God too.
5.when Jesus was tempted, the 3 temptations:we should not do what God did not ask us to do, everything has timing to it, we should do it in progression and wait on God.

Top 5 regrets about CF camp:
1. forgot to bring belt, so pants were super loose, hope no one saw anything they shouldn't..
2. didn't jam music properly with drummerboy
3. didn't had depressed late night bedtime talks with Justin enough
4. no girl stumbled me
5. hearing speaker's lame jokes

Post Camp Syndrome

Cf camp held in Port Dickson was cool

Had some really good moments

teaching was great

The bonding with people was superb

I guess the best part was the sleep, super comfy!
Speaker was cool too, different yet deep, lame yet inspiring.
Learned much, i bet Justin would agree.

Well, i guess if i were to post a full report on Cf camp, it would take up lots of time.. but rest assured, i really had a great time, in an unconventional sense, the enjoyment derived from different things, ranging from the rain to the looks on people's face. Refreshing and profound.

Well i think best i put some highlights and some pics:
-DrummerBoy Isaac Ng provided the best 'blur' moment in camp, example:
Jamie:"So, do you have a white shirt?"
Isaac:"No, i don't"
Jamie:"Weren't you wearing it this morning during worship?"
Isaac:"Yes."
-
Dancing during Hawaiian Night, tiring, practices were long! But i guess it was well worth the effort =))
-my angel in the angel/mortal game asked people to talk to me, tuck me in during sleep, sing lullaby and most importantly mini cereal in mini boxes for me most everyday!
-my date for Hawaiian night was sporting
-the stuff i learned from sessions was "WOW"
and many more... guess i can't think much right now, tiring day, it's 1 am.

oops, can't upload pics, hmm, next time then!

Take a Step

I know Transformers not the 'in' thing anymore, but still there is a line in the show that was really cool...

here it is:
Mikaela: This car's a pretty good driver.
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: Yeah.
[looks at the empty driver's seat]
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: Why don't you go sit on that seat there?
Mikaela: I'm not gonna sit on that seat. He's driving.
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: Yeah. You're right. You know, maybe you should sit on my lap.
Mikaela: Why?
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: Well, I have the only seat belt here. Safety first.
[Mikaela pauses]
Mikaela: Yeah. Right.
[Mikaela moves from the back seat to where Sam is sitting]
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: See? That's better.
Mikaela: You know, that seat belt thing was a pretty smooth move.
Sam 'Spike' Witwicky: Thank you.

Oops, no no, this is not the one, though i thought it was a pretty cool line too, must try it one day..

This is the one:

Sam 'Spike' Witwicky
: [to Mikaela when she doesn't want to get back in Bumblebee] Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?

Life is too short to not live, so why don't you take a step of faith and go wherever God leads? Even if it may seem like something stupid and out of your plans, but give it a try, it may lead someplace better.

Oh Where Oh Where could my...

Here a good friend and beloved sister leaving for Iowa, US early tomorrow morning!

She shares the same surname as me!

Well, her surname is 'Gan', and i am 'Yen', but the mandarin word is the same, you see, 'Gan' is Hokkien while 'Yen' is mandarin.

So basically when we met each other up after high school in HELP again, we called each other brother and sister, she's super nice, she flying off, all the best to her!

How can DanielOng say she's only 'Ok'????? She's hot! Quoting Keren in response to Daniel's remark: "You gay ah?"

BK Quiz

Bk quiz '07 was held yesterday

Went there early in the morning, in my half sleepy state met up with teachers and some friends from camps i attended years ago!

Kinda cool, Was invited by Nie Nie to be an invigilator for the written quiz, quite cool, just two years ago i was sitting there doing the paper, now am invigilating, how time flies

Apart from that, after marking the quizzes, i mean recording down the marks, went to eat! they actually prepared food for teachers and invigilators, so got a free meal, which was fine and dandy.

Then the SPM oral quiz started, was ok ler, nothing great, felt short and i was super sleepy at that time.

Then the whole usual thing about giving out prizes and going A & W for meals, went for youth, dinner then went home, a couple of hours later fell asleep, first time in a very long time i slept this early.

Good experience, but time do fly that fast, so fast i'm done with first year in my degree program, how fast some of my friends left or leaving to elsewhere for studies.

This Wed morning also a good friend and 'sister' leaving.

Help CF Camp coming soon too!

Fasting period officially reached its 2nd week! Still surviving!

Everything

This video MF intro-ed to me, kinda cool =))
Plus it has Lifehouse-Everything in it!! yea man!

I used..

to wanna be a rock god star, shredding the guitar with any body parts possible, dive into the crowd of fans and let them have a touch at me..

get wasted all day long, have a dozen girls everywhere i go shouting my name..

get millions in selling records, sign movie deals, marry a slutty celebrity and divorce her

and spend my remaining days writing songs and die!

ahh, dreams, so far away...
